Welcome!
Join the Yale Women’s Leadership Initiative on April 1, 2023 for our 15th annual Women’s Empowerment Conference! This will be our first in-person conference since the beginning of the pandemic. We seek to empower women to become leaders and change-makers in their industries and beyond.
Our previous 2022 conference emphasized connectivity and explored the possibilities of strong female leadership through digital accessibility, interactive programming, and opportunities to connect with prominent womxn leaders.
Programming included keynote speeches, panels of established womxn — in the fields of law, government, media, activism, entrepreneurship, finance/business, STEM, medicine/healthcare, and more — as well as workshops and fireside chats. Attendees joined us virtually as well as in-person to listen and interact with incredible womxn and develop a strong sense of community and support.
This year’s event will be fully in-person and is open to all, regardless of background, gender, or age.
Stay tuned for details about Conference 2023!

Mission & Goals:
The Women's Empowerment Conference seeks to empower women to become leaders and change-makers in their industries and beyond. We emphasize connectivity through digital accessibility, interactive programming, and networking with female leaders.
Our committee strives for the conference to serve as an inclusive environment where women can partake in opportunities for professional and career success, leadership development, and networking.
History
The Women’s Empowerment Conference is the cornerstone event of the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) at Yale, an organization founded in 2006 by five undergraduate women at Yale who desired to create an organization prioritizing support and mentorship for female leaders on campus. In its short but remarkable history, WLI has established a variety of programs and events for women at Yale: workshops, speaker events, the Leading Ladies Gala, and of course, the Women’s Empowerment Conference. Since 2006, the conference has expanded its reach to attract a diverse pool of women as well as a vast spectrum of speakers hailing from every discipline: from entertainment to government to journalism. The 2023 Conference will be the 15th of its kind!
